I’ve always been fascinated by the body-mind connection and drawn to the study of anatomy. Growing up as a dancer, and then a track and lacrosse athlete in high school and college, I learned a lot about injuries and pain and how to treat them. Teammates, friends, and family members often told me that I had an intuitive touch. After living in New York City during the 9/11 attacks, I felt compelled to help people heal their bodies and minds. The moment I started my massage training, I knew that I had made the right decision.
I graduated from the Swedish Institute in Manhattan in 2003 and have been working as a licensed massage therapist ever since. I love my work; I find it extremely gratifying to help my clients better understand their own bodies and experience relief and healing. My sessions incorporate deep tissue massage, trigger point release, acupressure, myofascial massage, passive stretching, and energy work. When working with clients in my own space, I utilize hot stones and warm grain pillows to warm the muscles and provide comfort. I listen to each client’s needs and intuitively adjust my pressure and focus accordingly. I have additional training in prenatal massage, acupuncture, Shiatsu, Thai yoga massage, meditation, reiki, and experience as a certified yoga instructor and labor doula.
My clients include people of all ages and backgrounds - dancers, students, athletes, yoga instructors, bodyworkers, teachers, musicians, therapists, physicians, painters, photographers, graphic designers, and more. I have worked on people with sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injury, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, scoliosis and other spinal disorders, severe depression, osteoporosis, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, TMJ, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, among other conditions.
My practice is located in Kensington, Brooklyn, on the border of Ditmas Park, an 8 minute walk from the F train and a 15 minute walk from the Q/B train. If traveling by car, please leave ample time for parking.

TESTIMONIALS
“Let’s not mince words: Kym is the best massage therapist you will ever have. When you first come in she will make you feel safe, welcome, and heard. When you lie on her table and she starts her work you will know that not only did she listen to what you told her about your body, but also that her hands are listening and learning and responding in such a deep and effective way. Every minute feels incredible. And when you leave you will feel relaxed, transported, and even a little magical. Kym is a great person and a true talent. I don’t ever want anyone else!”
“Kym is pure magic. She is my number 1 go-to body worker and has helped me to heal through MS relapses, through pregnancy aches, and has helped me to release past traumas. Her massages are more than a massage, because she has really gotten to know me as a person. One of my favorite parts is sitting down with her before the treatment where I truly feel heard and seen. I always feel amazing leaving her treatment, relaxed and high, and ready for a good sleep.”
“I’ve been to Kym over the years. She has always been thorough, thoughtful, attentive and incredibly strong. In the time that I had been seeing her off and on, I had a bad accident resulting in some broken ribs, a sprained back and a very traumatic concussion. Kym was astoundingly helpful in my recovery. She managed to cut through my fogginess, disequilibrium and very real aches and pains. She had an uncanny ability to separate out where I needed work and where to back off. She not only did thorough massages but she took the time to listen, write down notes and check back in with me for feedback—what she offered was a feedback loop that was exceptional and that I’ve rarely encountered anywhere in any field. Before the accident, I always appreciated and admired how attentive Kym was. After, it was that quality that was vital for me and made all the difference. I greatly recommend Kym O’Neill.”
“I initially started seeing Kym for prenatal massage in 2011, and to this day, she is the only person I’ll ever get a massage from, prenatal or otherwise. She creates a serene and peaceful environment, using beautifully scented massage oils and playing relaxing ambient music. Her massage is intensely therapeutic, and greatly relieved the pain I was having from my sciatica, yet luxurious and restorative. It is clear that Kym has vast physiological knowledge and understanding of the body’s muscle structures, and an affinity for making pregnant women feel like goddesses. She always takes her time discussing whatever is ailing me before she begins the massage, and then reassessing afterwards, often giving me useful advice regarding helpful stretches that I can do. I have referred many friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to Kym, and they always contact me afterwards, thanking me for putting them in touch with her! ”
“Kym has honestly ruined me for any other massage therapy or treatment. Her work is precise, grounded, connected, intense, and incredibly healing. She listens carefully and receives feedback openly and generously throughout the massage, adjusting to what your body and soul need. I never feel like I can’t speak up during the massage—it feels like she’s on my team, listening, making sure that she does what’s best for her client. She is strong, wise, and incredibly skilled at her work. Between her precise, methodical deep-tissue work, her attention to essential oils and aromas, and her occasional reiki-like energy adjustments, I always walk away from a treatment feeling whole and healed.”
“Of the many, many massage therapists I’ve seen in my life, Kym is among the top. She has given me routine massages, prenatal massages, and, perhaps the most cherished, reiki while I was going through chemotherapy. It was such a nurturing and protective experience that I asked her to join me in the hospital months later for my stem cell transplant. She held my body and space while the doctors introduced healthy stem cells back into my blood stream. She brought softness and light into that clinical environment. Kym has an almost supernatural ability to remove her “self” and let her hands find their way to supporting what your body needs, whether the ailment is physical or spiritual. She seems called to this work, and I’m so glad she’s heeded that call.”
